Ivory: France to destroy three tonnes of tusks

Around three tonnes of elephant tusks will be crushed into powder near the Eiffel Tower on Thursday in a symbolic gesture to show France’s committment to fighting the illegal trade in ivory. Campaigners are urging European countries to follow suit.
